Addressing the challenges of transitioning from high school to college-level coursework, our librarians will unveil how Lunch and Learn Seminars within our high school libraries have been pivotal in equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed for dual enrollment success.

Dual credit programs offer high school students the opportunity to earn college credits while still in high school, providing a valuable head start on their higher education journey. However, ensuring the success of students in these programs requires a comprehensive support system that addresses their unique needs and challenges. This presentation will explore strategies for supporting student success in dual credit programs, including academic advising, mentorship, collaboration between high schools and colleges, and the importance of flexible course options. Attendees will learn practical tips and best practices for fostering a supportive environment that empowers dual credit students to thrive academically and beyond.

Discover how libraries can be pivotal in integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into educational experiences, fostering college readiness, and promoting global citizenship. This session will explore innovative strategies to embed SDGs through library lessons, research and capstone projects, engaging library displays, Project-Based Learning (PBL), and dynamic makerspaces. Attendees will gain insights on how to leverage library services to create meaningful learning experiences that align with college readiness standards and cultivate a deep understanding of global challenges.

The PSJA ISD Early Childhood Department established a robust comprehensive support program that provides a strong foundation for Pre-K students and their families. This program increased and sustained the number of students performing on grade level by leveraging three pillars (Academic, Engaged Families, and Community Partnerships). During this session, the presenters will share the strategies and tasks used to successfully implement the program followed by a Q & A panel discussion that will provide firsthand experiences.
