How can we meet students' needs without having to duplicate efforts at multiple high schools? During this session, you get to hear from some of our high school PSJA Academy teachers that are focused on preparing students for college and/or the workforce. The work that is done is aligned to students earning credentials such as college certificates, industry certifications and/or professional licenses. With specialized programs students from all high schools are joined together to focus on their future career goals. We embrace all students to participate with the intention that such PSJA Academies and earned credentials can be a stepping stone to higher degrees.

AVID Excel changes the trajectory of experienced multilingual scholars by accelerating language acquisition, developing literacy, and placing them on the path to high school and college preparatory coursework. AVID Emerge is a catalyst for accelerating academic language acquisition, purposefully weaving reading, writing, listening, and speaking into every facet of instructional practice in the high school setting. There will be a panel discussion with Pharr San Juan Alamo educators related to the success of the AVID Excel program and Emerge.
