PSJA ISD College For All Conference

Through our positive and engaging partnership with our higher institution South Texas College, students can leverage on participating in high wage, high skills, and high demand career pathways. PSJA ISD utilizes various data sources to determine the appropriate programs to offer. Through our collaboration, both institutions are looking out for our students' futures. The CTE programs that are selected to be offered are Level I college certificates of which the coursework is stackable to a more advanced credential and/or an Associates degree at South Texas College. This will ensure that if elected to, the student can continue their education smoothly without loosing time and effort from what they already earned as an Early College student at PSJA ISD.

Audience will learn how to create calming zones; the purpose of a calming zones; establish rules; and participate in Calming Zones

This workshop invites educators, administrators, and stakeholders to uncover the transformative power of bilingualism in secondary settings. Participants will gain comprehensive insights into effective strategies for nurturing and enhancing biliteracy skills among adolescent learners. From curriculum development that integrates language proficiency with academic content to fostering cultural competence and promoting inclusive learning environments, this session will equip attendees with practical tools and innovative approaches. Join us as we explore the unique challenges and opportunities of secondary dual language education, empowering educators to prepare students for success in a globally interconnected world.

Collaboration between the TEA's Emergent Bilingual Support Division and PSJA has been instrumental in continuing to foster effective program implementation practices that strengthen systems to improve student outcomes. This session is designed for educators, school administrators, higher education, and community representatives who are committed to improving educational outcomes for bilingual students through effective partnerships.

From 2020 to 2024, Educate Texas served as the technical assistance provider to the Texas College and Career Readiness School Models network of over 500 ECHS (Early College High School) and P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) programs across the state. These open enrollment programs blend high school and college coursework enabling students to earn a college degree or credential that leads to a living wage and thriving communities. In this session participants will develop an understanding of the CCRSM program structure, and requirements framed by the Texas CCRSM Blueprint. In addition, participants will learn best practices for sustaining CCRSM and identify opportunities for scaling their programs.

Learn about the Texas Education Agency's College and Career Readiness School Models (CCRSM) programs: Early College High School (ECHS) and Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH). This session will provide an overview of the ECHS and P-TECH Blueprints and Outcomes- Based Measures (OBMs), how the agency works with a Technical Assistance partner to provide support to our 520+ campuses, and how we designate ECHS and P-TECH schools.
